The show is too PC now, and hasn’t been good for about 20 years. I loved it in the 70’s as I was growing up, but now I’d rather watch reruns of the 11 o’clock news.

After serving in the military myself as a USMC Machine Gunner, I found way too many unrealistic flaws in this movie. I was expecting to see the British equivalent of Saving Private Ryan and was disappointed. At least I’m glad I got to see it for free, while flying from Chicago O’hare to Santa Ana on American Airlines. Had I not been a captive audience with nothing better to do, I would have never made it through the first 30 minutes. If you want a good movie with the EXACT same storyline, watch Gallipoli which was made in 1983.
