I was pretty mad about this movie for a few hours after, but now I just am concerned for Wes Anderson's emotional wellbeing. Where did his tender heart go? Don't the cast of emotionally shut down ragamuffins, which are consistently his characters, need to become so seemingly hopeless only to find those rapturous moments of connection, love, intimacy to make their odd vulnerability worthwhile? No? I mean when you just have visual stunts with a bunch of emotionally closed off oddballs (with a few certifiable sociopaths and psychopaths thrown in), it's pretty yucky. Where is the love and tenderness? I hope he's ok.
