Julia Roberts and the Obamas produced an apocalypse drama. Most events in the film are inexplicable and unrealistic. The funny thing is, while I watched it, I found it tense, exciting and fascinating. It was only afterwards, when I thought about each scenario, that I realized it was complete bollocks.
The socio-economic dynamics of the white and black families are interesting. Roberts is intensely dislikeable, and her once beautiful mouth looks like a piece of liver on the turn. But nothing explains why the cultured black financier on the board of the opera allowed his daughter to cover herself in ink like a crack ho.
