A good football game should simulate football as much as possible (like AI can read the game, AI can position well offensively/defensively, etc.). In terms of team football in which a player can virtually control a team's tactics and style of play, EA Sports FC fails to simulate the football. AI's offensive positioning lacks dynamics. No automatic third man run, insufficient underlapping/overlapping, insufficient forward straight run (when I press L1/LB button to order a forward run, it's already too late that the opponent has already closed me down). As for defence, AI's defensive positioning is sometimes frustrating. For example, the defensive job of CDM is to move up/down to cut passing lane or to close down an opponent. In this game, AI CDM just fails to do this job. Moreover, the defensive play is so disgusting as the game puts too much emphasis on 1v1 situation. I can make the opponent (human or AI) not able to dribble past me, but this doesn't mean I can take the ball back. If the opponent struggles to dribble past me, they will pass the ball backwards and try to dribble past me again. And the process will be repeated if they don't succeed in it. Football, the beautiful game consists not only of dribbling, but of off-the-ball movement, of passing, and so on. If the game prefers so much emphasis on 1v1 situation, remove team football and just focus on dribbling mode then.
As for individual football in which a player can play football in a position with other AI/human teammates, EA Sports FC is still not good, but acceptable and enjoyable. The problems of AI have already been mentioned above, but I still can, for example make third man run, and freely express myself, however only with AI teammates. Most human teammates are pains. They are bad footballers (inability to read the game, inability to use the ball well, and inability to position well). They often run out of position, spam long ball, or, are too eager to get the ball and then lose the ball then immediately lose the ball because of poor dribbling for example. In Clubs, any player is forced to play with human teammates. FC 24 allows any player to play alone if no human teammates can be found. But this year, the game ridiculously doesn't allow this. If no human teammates can be found, there will be message 'there was an error searching for additional teammates. Please try again." I don't know why the game forces any player to play with others in Clubs. Nonetheless, a private space should be respected. I believe there are others like me who would like to play alone against human opponents. Please add a choice that any player can play alone in any Clubs mode.
