Great storytelling. A page turner. Couldnt put it down . But I don’t think a beautiful novel like Brooklyn should be sequelized.

I bought the 'Mirror and the Light' a few days before the bookshops closed down . I brought it home like a jewel and left it on my coffee table , untouched , until I had finished all the obligatory corona virus lockdown house cleaning . And then , to the feast. Mantels' final book is dense, immersive and deeply satisfying. I constantly have to look back to the huge cast of characters to check who's who and there's nothing automatic or easy about reading this book. But the effort is as necessary as digging for treasure. The woman is a genius .
