My friend and I went to go see the translated to English version, and I am definitely glad we did. There was so much to absorb and a lot to follow with this movie (not to give any spoilers).
I have always loved the animation style that Hayao Miyazaki produces, and this movie is no exception. Tons of beautiful colours and textures, all combined beautifully throughout the whole movie. I am also not usually someone who enjoys the more gore-ish animations, but I have always enjoyed the way Miyazaki does creepy/gore-ish scenes and characters.
The plot can be hard to follow at times, and there are things that can slip under the rug if you aren't paying attention. This is definitely a movie I feel like I need to watch several times in order to catch onto all the details and grasp them completely.
Still, my friend and I did really enjoy the movie, and I have recommended it to anyone in my life that enjoys any of the other movies produced by Studio Ghibli.
