Absolutely fantastic start it absolutely hooked me for the first 40%, if it kept up that pace and momentum it would've easily been a 5 star book Then the cracks started to show, the writing style was like a boomer trying too hard to talk to a young person (which was very surprising given the profile of the author), the deaths were very silly, and it all became a bit turgid but it could have been saved with a strong ending. As you can see by my 1 star, the ending was weaker than the middle.
