Try this exercise: Next time you inbound the ball, leave your hand off of the Left Analog stick. You'll notice your player takes several nonsensical dribbles, which just so happen to take the player close to the Center Court line. The Physics and non-stop patches are absolutely nightmarish. This isn't basketball. You'll notice your players nearly out of control near center court, baseline, 3 point line, etc. Rather than making it about skill, and rather than improving the AI, this game makes you fight/play against yourself. Most of the game is fighting the nonsensical Physics to control your player.
Oh, and how about the legacy of nonsense 2K refuses to fix: If you don't call a play, your players will just stand motionless and when you pass to them, the computer will intercept the pass. Or the incredibly dominant AI for offensive rebounding. You'll play perfect defense, only to have the computer magically grab offensive rebounds (sometimes in a crowd of multiple players on my team), kick it to a WIDE open player for a three that always goes in.
Or you'll notice one of your own players leave the person they're guarding, even if your defender is elite like Pippen or Kawhi.
This is not basketball. Sadly, this is a beautiful to look at game that has followed the Madden Script of just recycling the same game with patches and cosmetic tweaks.
