This book is absolutely amazing and Jeanette has such a strong voice. I looked forward to getting in my car to listen to the next chapter really wanting to learn more and hear what she had to say. The way she talks about growing up with her abusive and smothering mother that put a lot of pressure and basically rewrote her childhood to what her mother wanted still remained very nuanced considering the amount of abuse she went through. When I first heard she didn't want to do the reboot it made me sad as I had such fond memories of her as a child on Nick. But in the last few chapters shes talks about now she doesn't wanna act anymore and doesn't wanna be tied to Sam Puckett her entire life. It makes so much sense when she explains it after you've sat with her life experiences the entire book. The creepiness of the creator and how he made them feel. I did the audio book read by her and it was so worth it. The way she talks and reads the stories is worth the extra money. This book was so well done and you should 10000000% read it coming from someone who stricter reads YA romance. This was my top read of 2024!!!!
