Mohanlal and the rawness of this much-talked about thriller suffers from terrible and over-the-top second half with illogical interrogation scene and poor production design throughout. I was engaged in the 1st half with the long buildup of family dynamics and the character of the protagonist. But after the incident happened and investigation began, I cudnt help but wondering the logic behind nabbing the family for everything without finding any other suspects only based on One Police officer's statement, who happened to have a beef with Mohanlal, really? Is this how an investigation takes place in reality? Come on. What the IG lady has against Mohanlal's family? what makes her so adamant that its them who are to be blamed here on what basis? They din buildup anything other than their son was known to Mhanlal's daughter? I laughed out loud in disbelief when she said "Cinema? Hmm.. Its an important link." Then they kept questioning the precision of their evidence, even going the extent of accusing them. What? So everybody remembering the exact time and date is a crime, is that it? The scene that took me off the premise was the shocking interrogation scene where the family was being beaten up. Wasnt it over the top showing this much brutality by the Police specially on children and women? I thought woman constables are needed to put hands on another woman. I kept wondering what I was watching and why it is acceptable.
Then later on, when the girl spoke up and it turned out to be nothing, why they are let off the hook? Isnt that falsely leading the Police? Then what actually she told the Police? Whats beneath the ground?
Lastly, that confession scene on the cliff. I get he confessed to them, but I cudnt help thinking why they didn't do anything? A better writing would have make the Police shooting him and throwing him off the cliff in process, then the couple trying to coverup the body. How fitting that would have been. Just think of it.
