This movie helped me to divert from my passionate feelings against Francisco for welcoming the Venezuelan dictator And his gang of corrupt murderers to the Vatican, to a better understanding of his role as the โrepresentativeโ of Jesus Christ on earth. It helped me to (whether I or others agreed or disagree) see the โdiplomaticโ and/or religious โ neutrality of the church, when is forced to take a position to condemn such atrocities in the world.
It was an inner struggle to the point that in a couple of occasions I was going to stop the movie because I could not scape from my disgust against Francisco because of the Venezuelan issue, especially when the clips of his relationship with the Argentinian dictator were played.
I am not a devote Catholic, but I believe in God as a figure beyond us where we deposit our hopes and wishes for our (and loved ones, including the world) well being. But was able to understand how difficult for a leader (especially a religious leader of this caliber; not the evangelistsโ money and brainwashing seekers) it would be to make a judgement regarding how to interact with the โDevilโ, in our Venezuelan case, Maduro and his assessing/corrupt accomplishes. It appears to me that if Pope Francisco had openly condemned Maduro, as it happened in Cuba, the dictator regime would have ended one of the only places or figures where they feel their prayer could be heard.
It was a beautiful film, which regardless of the obvious religious connotations, moves you to the point if reflection into your own inner struggles, and in fact help you to be forgiven with your own self.
I strongly recommend this film!!!!!!
