Despite what many critics are saying about the movie now, I firmly believe that this is one of the stronger movies of the saga. A common complaint amongst the reviewers so far has been that it did too much to please the fans (which leads me to believe that not many of these critics were huge fans themselves), but the 9th episode of a 42-year-old saga should be doing just that. It did, and as a fan I believed that it near-perfectly wrapped up all the loose ends left by Rian Johnson in The Last Jedi. The Rise of Skywalker was a 9.1/10 for me as it was an emotional and highly-entertaining way to finish off the new trilogy.
As a pretty big Star Wars fan, I thought that the plot was fantastic and left me with fantastic moments and plot twists that gave me the chills while watching. Visually the movie was extremely well-done with great shots by JJ Abrams and beautiful CGI when necessary. Certain scenes stood out to me with fantastic action and fairly good acting that are some of my favorite in the movie series. Not having Carrie Fisher was probably the biggest detriment to the film, but I thought that Abrams played the cards he was dealt well and got around that issue effectively. As a young kid who quickly fell in love with the original trilogy (but hated the prequels), I thought that this was a great Star Wars movie that should please the majority of fans of the saga as in my opinion, it is the 4th-best of the entire saga and anyone who has seen the previous movies should give it a shot.
