Authentic and gritty. Returns Batman to his Detective roots at long last. Catwoman is woke yet sexy, chemistry is spot on. The menacing Riddler is a fresh intriguing take. Music is an abisimal mismatch, dragging down the already blurry camera work and over long scenes. As usual with super hero films the overly complex plot and gaggle proliferation of characters bespeaks the filmmakers apparent panic that they'd never get a sequel, so had to cram everything into one overlong film.
