With Yumi Cells, there are several things I love and several things that I found to be largely unrealistic. When I was about finishing season 1, I wondered why there was a need for season 2. In my opinion, the stories were so drawn out that they gave us a vivid look into each character. Which I think is a good thing and a not-so-good thing. The plotting was not only about the lead characters, as the writers introduced a POV style of storytelling to show us the complexity of each character. I loved the adoption of the cells to tell the story of each character. Now I wonder which of my cells are responsible for each action or thought in my body.
As for Yumi's character, I found her to be irrational most times which made me think that despite the Love cell being her prime cell for most of seasons 1 and 2, she was primarily influenced by her emotion/sensitivity cell. The reasons she ended her relationship with Wong and Ba Bi made absolutely no sense to me at all. She was always led by immediate feelings and caused such an uproar along the way. I like to think humans apply more thought to serious decisions and not break up with people simply because a text was too short, or they took longer than 1 second to respond to a complicated question.
Overall, it was a good watch. I just hope to God we don't get a season 3 because it is really not a necessary addition to the series.
