Hands-down one of the best series I've ever watched! The casting director nailed it!! The actors understood their characters and performaned their parts flawlessly. Much of the story is told from Eli's, perspective, an Australian boy in the 1980's, who loves his family and goes to great lengths to bring them back together. This series is a bit grimy in parts, there's some mystery, but mostly heartwarming, & funny! My biggest disappointment was that it's a limited series, and it doesn't appear that there will be a season 2. I appreciate that the writer leaves some of the story open to interpretation.
