Hmmmmmm…. I did like the ‘Woman in the Window’ much better as it drew me in a lot more and had less fussing about & it was an easy ‘page turner”. ‘End of story’ was difficult to get into & too much fluffy buffy unnecessary wording. It felt at times as though AJ Finn was just trying too hard to make this book better than his first. Sadly it wasn’t. Good ending…if you can stick it out till then!

As the story went on, the chapters got shorter & shorter to keep you turning the pages, of course… but I was waiting for the surprise “twist” & unfortunately it never really happened. The plot felt a bit ‘messy’ & there wasn’t really the anticipated grand finale climax. The Silent Patient is definitely his best work, followed by The Maidens in second place & sadly ‘The Fury’ currently in last place. It had potential but just missed the mark unfortunately. Perhaps after the great success & clever plot twist of The Silent Patient it’s hard to ‘beat it’. Fingers crossed for your next one Alex 🙏🏻

Unfortunately I only up to page 75 and abandoned ship! The blurb on the back sounded like it could be a really interesting novel. Could have been, but…. There would’ve been enough characters in the novel with the historical characters but then there was an extra bunch of fictional characters added in & then it felt like reading two separate novels at once! Funnily enough the chapters with Jane Eyre were better to read than the historical chapters. I jumped ahead and read a few pages later in the novel to see if it got any better but unfortunately it appears that it didn’t. It was hard to read and I found it boring and long winded. Sorry but I just couldn’t invest any more time in reading further.

I have to say that I really enjoyed this movie. I went with an open mind and brought my imagination with me, which is what I like to do with all movies & I wasn’t disappointed. It was action packed with interesting characters, quirky humour, way out stunts and the storyline unfolded very well divulging the reasons why each character was doing what they were doing. The Japanese version of “I need a hero” during the sword fighting scene was a nice touch. The only things I would’ve changed was perhaps a bit more of a soundtrack with funky quirky tunes & given Tatum Channing a bit more screen time, but these are minor things. Overall, really loved it!

Baz Luhrmann is an absolute genius! It literally felt like a front seat experience through Elvis’s life from when he discovered gospel music to his untimely demise. When Elvis went on stage at the Hayride at the start of the film, I felt as though I was actually in the 1950’s experiencing his hip wiggling for the very first time and feeling as though my world had just opened up. Amazing! It was a journey though his life and how vulnerable he really was and obligated to a handful of people who were close to him, while he was just trying to do what he loved most. Austin Butler was magnificent as Elvis! Best movie I’ve seen in a very long time! Can’t wait to see what Baz does next 👍

This was my first Colleen Hoover book & it had me hooked from the get go. I couldn’t put it down as I needed to know how it ended. Unfortunately the ending was the disappointing part. It was actually quite a let down and left me wanting something more. I had two possible (shocking) endings in my head but unfortunately the real one left me feeling a bit flat. I will try another Colleen Hoover book and see how it goes.
