I've given this 5 stars only because the acting is phenomenal. This is a beginner level version of what I'd call a jump scare horror and not a genuinely scary movie. It's an okay movie, story wise but again as stated in the credits these stories have been told for centuries so we can't expect something we already know will happen.

With a star studded cast where only Cate and Jack made sense, this movie falls short of any expectations. It's almost as if the game creators had zero say in the final product. Kevin hart is fantastic but not suited for Roland, tiny Tina was spot on and even jack black as clap trap kept you at least chuckling through the movie as he was surprisingly good. The story was non existent and character development was shoved in your face. Even if you disregard game lore, the movie, CGI and structure were all bad. On the game accuracy side of things, this should of been rated R. The fact there is zero blood and gore like the game makes no sense.
