The author's summary of Skylab 4 is incorrect. There was no mutiny or strike. I was there. Ed Gibson, Skylab 4 Science Pilot. The author has taken the easy way and just repeated what some media have speculated.
Also, when Deke Slayton was taken off of flight status, he was put in charge of not just the Astronaut Office but also Aircraft Operations and Mission Control; that is, he was in charge of all Flight Operations
