Forget your expectations and associations with Wes Anderson. He has a refined style and mastery of aspects of film that are not common to modern Hollywood filmmakers.
This is a film, not a piece of motion picture entertainment.
This film is fantastic. The writing is superb and shows a poeticism and command of literary language missing from other contemporary works. And somehow I feel that the director is poking fun at intellectual and professorial Collegiate literary language that fit well in the 20th century.
All in all the plots, characters, thematic development and visual style was stunning. Few films compare to this one. I reccomend
