I went into this thinking I wouldn't like this movie. Boy was I wrong.
Mikey Madison, Yura Borisov and the entire cast did a phenomenal job of creating such dynamic, engaging, and fun to watch characters. I love what director Sean Baker did with the finale. He explained that he wanted to "leave it up to the audience" on how they want to interpret the ending. I think that's a very smart decision for the movie and how it comes across because it adds a certain element of complexity and depth to what we have seen. Many can interpret this differently, but for me, the ending was Ani/Anora finally opening up to someone (especially Igor) after all that we've seen happen in this story. Through it all, the film remains skillfully produced (on a tight budget), expertly written/directed, and wonderfully performed. A true gem, and so much fun.
