Simply Quite Brilliant
Another success from Jordan peele in this unusual horror and sci-fi combination. Nope is full of messages and metaphors that are hinted at and referenced to throughout the film which add to the experience. What I found most entertaining was an almost completely familiar monster changed into something completely original, I have to give props to the designers of this thing as I have never seen anything like it and it single handedly filled me with fear, mystery and confusion.
I would say that the majority of roles if not all are played to absolute perfection the highlight being Keke palmer playing emerald flawlessly. The title and trailer gives almost nothing of the film away which in this case I will fully support and recommend you watch this film with little information on what it is. I admit the film starts of sort of slow and lots of things happen that are not explained but this is all well and good when the pace increases and all the questions we were asking are pretty much answered by the end of the film the only one being the origin of our monster which is left unsolved.
The film completely took me by surprise and i was impressed on all the little details they included and I will probably watch again to fully understand them. I credit how they manage to make what should be a funny chimp dressed in silly clothes into a menacing hostile monster and I credit how they turn what should be a slightly boring setting into something so interesting. For me this film ticks all the boxes and deserves all five stars and i would highly recommend you go watch it
