I have several complaints about this movie, and I feel that this is just a money grab from the Jurassic franchise.
1. The dinosaurs themselves only have a few minutes screentime. They should have had more dino scenes, specifically with the Velociraptors.
2. The Family in this movie feels excessively focused on and has too much plot armor for any fear factor in the movie. They seem kind of invincible, like the writers were too scared to kill anyone off. I found several of their actions to be stupid and annoying, not intense or serious.
3. There is no final battle or any good Dinosaur fights within the movie, even The Lost World: Jurassic Park at least had one decent fight, being Velociraptor Vs. Velociraptor. This movie left out a huge Dino Factor that the fans wanted and expected. This made me feel disappointed and let down by the film overall.
4. The characters killed were very predictable; I found that the writers only wanted to kill dislikable characters - this gave the likable characters too much plot-armor, giving an unrealistic feel when some of them were left unscathed after horrible situations. (cough cough- Henry Loomis). The unlikable characters they killed seemed very shallow, making it obvious who would be killed in the movie.
5. Also, the D-Rex feels pointless. It did not have much screen-time like it seemed it would by the trailers, and that it did not fight the T-Rex in the end. I donโt think the D-Rex added to the plot much and I much wouldโve rather seen a Carcharodontosaurus, or other real dino get a spotlight on screen. The D-Rex seems too alien, like the Female MUTO out of Godzilla. I also found an unexplained plot hole in the movie, *spoilers* the D-Rex is left locked in its containment in the beginning of the movie as the scientists escape. So can someone explain to me how this thing was loose in the end of the movie??! It really seems like the producers threw in some freaky creature just because they could, even though it wasnโt necessary or a well thought out plot. The movie producers were probably betting that the audience was too stupid to notice details like that, or have in criticism to their poor movie making abilities.
