Painful to watch! De Niro is completely typecast and his acting is nowhere near its best and not helped by the blue contacts he wears throughout the film, which completely devoid his character of any visible emotion. At times I thought Pacino thought he was in Scarface 2. I don't mean that as a compliment. Pacino's acting is as repetitive as the dialogue. Scenes between Pacino and De Niro appeared to be spontaneous with the characters constantly repeating what the other had just said as if they couldn't hear eachother and were clarifying. "It's what it is". This failed to add drama or atmosphere and is frustrating to watch. I didn't care for any character as I felt their stories had all been told in The Godfather and Good Fellas. It seemed to me that Pacino was shoehorned into the film so that the "holy trinity" could be on the big screen... ahem... sorry Netflix. Several scenes are genuinely cringe worthy. De Niro honestly looked out of his depth physically during the grocery/street fight scene. Poorly executed CGI only added to the staged atmosphere of the film. Based on Pescis acting it would appear that he was told not to. Pesci in Home Alone he isn't let alone Good Fellas. It was far too little spread over far too long.
