Idris Alba as Luther again, I thought. This should be worth a shout. Well, I watched it and thought, "Ah, it's OK I suppose." Then I made the mistake of going back to watch the original series, which made me realise what an absolute pile of sh*te this film really is. For a start, Andy Serkis is a brilliant actor, but his character was far too cartoon-ish compared to the series' nasties. It needed Alice. Someone to tease Luther with a subtle nuance into the psyche of the protagonist. Luther and Alice are like Starsky and Hutch, but with one half having some slight psychotic tendencies. To someone who is a fan of Idris Alba, then this is the film for you. If you're a fan of Luther, don't go anywhere chuffing near it!!
