I thought the film was great! Heart pumping sci fi thrills!
The world building in the film was excellent. From the visual effects to the sets, you can tell there was a real artistic vision when it came to the visuals of the film. Really incredibly creative scenes throughout the movie. There was a bit of deepfake tech used which landed firmly in the uncanny valley, but it felt reasonable considering the circumstances. (Don't want to spoil anything)
I've seen complaints about the acting and dialogue. The acting was good, not spectacular, but still good. Spaeny had a couple stand out moments in scenes where I genuinely felt moved. The dialogue complaints have mostly been about reusing lines from previous movies. I felt it leaned slightly too heavily on the lines, but it still felt like more of an homage than a crutch to me.
The story was good too. It won't win awards, but it was good enough that I bought all of the characters' decisions. Their decisions didn't feel like they were scripted to bring us to an outcome, instead it felt the outcomes were a result of their decisions. (Hope that makes sense haha)
I only just saw it tonight so my view may change, but for the moment I really like it.
