From what I read from the producers, Calliou never had cancer. They kept him bald for continuity reasons. I read one of the baby books at the library, he was a baby in this book. It was not too bad. The problem is that in the cartoon he is 4 or 5, bald and a still a whiney baby. It did not give my kids behavior problems, but it did not teach good values either. I do not recommend this show.
