I don’t know why this film dint work on the office. Call it the frames of the beautiful South india or the light hearted delivery of a theme so dark- I find this movie very soothing to the soul.
The cast was well thought, something out of the box at the time of the release of the movie and the performances are quite effortless.
If you have ever attended a funeral in your life of a grandparent or a parent, the movie becomes relatable at the it’s and bits.
It doesn’t go at the crying women in the house or the grieving phase but the parts of the close family coming together. I remember when my grandmother passed away , it started with all tears but all I remember is how my whole family sat together afterwords remembering the stories and funny tales of her life. I remember we laughed with tears in our eyes- an amalgam of both happy and sad ones.
Karwana is a happy place for me for it reminds me of that day my grandmother died. Importantly it reminds me of the happy tears far more than sad ones!
It’s been almost 6 years since this movie came out. I have seen this movie multiple times and each time after seeing this one- at the end of the movie - I have noticed a happy tear slipping by !
