This was by far the most informative, powerful, much-needed documentary I have ever seen. Every person living, especially in the United States of America, needs to see it. “Stamped From The Beginning” takes the viewer on a deep dive, dispelling many myths and false narratives that Blacks and Whites in this country have believed for centuries, exposing them for the falsehoods they are. It then empowers Blacks as a people, reinforcing the fact that the only thing wrong with Black people is “Black people thinking there is something wrong with Black people.” It’s never been about what’s wrong with us, it’s about what’s right with us. My favorite quote from the documentary is that of Ida B. Wells: “The very frequent inquiry made after my lectures by interested friends is, what can I do to help the cause? The answer always is, tell the world the facts.” This documentary does just that. It tells the world the FACTS. Facts that if listened to carefully and received with open hearts, will ignite the fire of change needed in today’s society.
