They have a plot but just didn't colour in the pictures.
It's about a Michelin star chef that inherited his brother's dump of an Italian restaurant after the brother committed suicide. He tries to make a success out of the restaurant. And that is it.
Somewhere early in the series you learn that his brother was in over $300k debt. The debt is owed to his uncle (you have to assume the relation. It's never fully established). Other than that, there is absolutely no progression in the story. We have no idea if the restaurant is doing better or worse than when we started.
They have this chaos theme throughout the the entire series. At first you like it because it is somewhat arty in a way. But then it just becomes overused and irritating. You struggle to follow conversations, at times, because everyone is screaming and shouting over each other.
There is absolutely zero character development whatsoever. We don't care about a single one of the countless characters because we don't get to know anyone of them.
There is this weird apprehension between the sister's husband and other males characters that is just left unexplained, amongst multiple other things.
The only reason I watched this series till the end is because I wanted to know what was said in the note that the late bother left to his youngster brother. It was revealed right at then end and forced the conclusion of a mini subplot.
