If they cut off the first half of the movie, this would be an OK move. I recommend watching the first 10 minutes, then fast forwarding to about 1/3 through (you'll know when), then fast forwarding again to about half, and then watching from there. The first half isn't just not great, it's utterly pointless and very boring. The second half is fun, but not worth suffering through the first half. Do not see this in theatres.

I've watched 4/8 episodes, and Terminator Zero is clearly a tribute to Terminator 1, from the basic protagonist and antagonist design to the various nostalgic battles. But it's OK, because they do them brilliantly. You turn to the person next to you and you go "look! They're doing the [spoiler] scene! AND IT'S AWESOME. With 4 episodes left, there is still time for it to turn into the classic sci-fi anime acid-trip ending, but the half I've watched so far is EXCELLENT.

The marketing, trailers, thumbnails, early news articles and promises from Kevin Smith all made clear that this was the continuation of He-Man from our childhood. It is not. The show completely sidelines He-Man to concentrate almost exclusively on Teela (and somewhat on Evil-Lyn). It's fine when franchises want to do spinoffs about side characters, but you need to be honest about it. It's not OK to lie to your fans, promising them a one thing, then giving them another. This is "subverting expectations" in the very worst way. It's no better than if they created a new series "For the Honor of Grayskull," showed tons of material about She-Ra, then made it all about Bow.
