The 1st couple episodes were challenging ... to sit through. But then it really improved. and became addictive by mid-season. Season 1 finale leaves an enormous volume of suspense. Luckily Season 2 is scheduled to begin 1 week after I finished season 1.
I did have a major problem with part of the the plot, though. I'll beat around the bush so as to not spoil it for anyone ... there is a certain character whose status with the company creates a risk to the company that, if you are to buy into everything else, is itself simply not buyable and actually quite ridiculous. This flaw is the fact that this character's status flies in the face of the rest of the storyline of "severance" and the true/hidden reasons for it. IF that certain character would be permitted even exist as such a risk, there is a very specific point near the end of the season where the company would've had to contact the Duttons to drop that character off at the train station instead of risking literally everything by the course of action the show chose for the company regarding that character. This flaw is easy to miss/overlook but is in major conflict the rest of the story and believability. That's why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. That said, while its not perfect I still highly recommend the show.
