I recently watched the show all the way through. I like true crime as much as the next person but I cant believe the amount of love letters and fan mail people like dahmer get. I cant believe women were actually in love with men like him. I also couldn't believe they added a little bit of Ed Gein and John Wayne Gacey into the show. It just reminded me that there were so many serial killers active around the time that dahmer and gacey were active. Golden state killer, The Night Stalker, Ted Bundy, Carl Eugene Watts, Randy Steven Kraft just to name a few. The 60s-80s was crazy. This was a good show but damn was it insane. This isnt just a story. Its real life. Events like this ACTUALLY took place and we need to remember and respect that.
(im not sure if these following events in the show actually happened in real life but this is just my review on what happened in the show) Both Jeff's mom and dad were 100% guilty in how they did or didnt raise him. MAYBE, just maybe, did the surgery that jeff had as a baby added too that. His mother was so selfish and addicted to drugs and such a narcissist and him finding his mom OD must have been traumatizing. Not to mention her leaving him at the family home for MONTHS. (I know that his mom abandoned him at the home but I didn't know if she had OD when he was a kid) If his dad hasnt come to see him, who knows what would've happened. But the fact that his dad would just leave him with her for days on end was also disgusting. Im glad he recognized by the end that he contributed to Jeffery turning out the way he was. However I'm royally pissed off with his mom for trying to take the easy way out instead of owning up to her mistakes and admitting that what she did was wrong and how she treated Jeffery was so abusive. She admitted it in the letter but she still tried to off herself. What a b word. Let me clarify that I am in no means supporting Jeffery Dahmer and what he did to his victims. He is a monster and I sincerely home he rots in hell. Lots of people have had rough childhoods. I surely did. But i know that lots of people have had it significantly worse and didnt resort to murder for it.
One more thing. Theres a youtuber I watch who tells true crime stories like Jefferys on her channel and she mentioned that she would not say the names of the victims because those who have, have been sued by the victims families for not giving them permission to disclose them. Which is understandable. During her video she didnt mention any names but then I see this show and they mention the victims names. Are these names made up to keep the privacy of they victims or are these the factual names?? And if they are the factual names, I hope Netflix got their permission before making this show. I havent seen the movie yet. I really dont wanna look up the victims names for the sake of their privacy and I dont wanna accidently see something Ill regret but I am curious. Is Glenda a real person and was she actually Dahmers neighbor??
Im gonna cut it here before I find the urge to keep typing.
