⚠️ LOTS AND LOTS OF SPOILERS BECAUSE I MUST SPEAK ABOUT BOOK ⚠️ I love this book so much but I also want to punch it in the face I wish they had the fantasy ending where they both live and grow old together but no they just had to make the worlds cutest couple Mateo and Rufus than procde to kill Mateo in a house fire because he woke up after snuggling with Rufus and wanted to make Rufus some tea, like what the heck. You make these two amazing charters progressively fall in love (throughout the middle and part part of the book it tells how Mateo blushed when Rufus held his hand, or looked at him) and have the most amazing kiss after a duet which Mateo was nervous about and after the kiss Rufus says “it’s about dang time.” Which just shows how cute there realationship is. And then right after Mateos death Rufus leaves the hospital goes to one of his and Mateos favorite park putting in headphones at full volume playing the video of Mateo singing a song for him, and proceeds to die because the last page in the book (which book im mad at you for) is, “I wonder if Mateo found his mother yet. I wonder if he told her about me. If I find my family first, we’ll have our hug-it-out moment, and then I’ll recruit them in my Mateo manhunt. Than who know what comes next. I throw on my headphones and watch the video of Mateo singing to me. I see Althea Park in the distance, my place of great change. I return my attention to the video, his voice blasting in my ears. I cross the street without an arm to hold me back.” WHAT WAS THAT LAST PAGE BOOK AAAAAA
