I recently watched this movie with some friends, and I have to say it's not that bad. Although there are some gaping potholes, character interactions that felt forced, and predictable scenes, it overall felt goofy and fun.
It relied a lot on racial stereotypes for the four main characters, most obviously the black comedic relief character and silent Asian girl, but it did get better as the movie continued. All the characters suffered from similar problems, mostly with their family and, of course, the increasingly likelyness of the apocalypse.
If there was one thing that annoyed me the most, it would be the forced romance between two of the main characters. I felt it to be over the top and boderline cringeworthy. No two young teens would act with such devotion to one another. I did like how the characters developed together though, reminding me of the breakfast club in a way, but way less serious.
Overall I would give this movie a 7/10 rating. Funny, simple and goofy, a movie to watch if you want something that's light-hearted and simple.
