I thought JD was an awesome character albeit psychotic.

I watched Grave of the Fireflies when I was young. I still remember it and have vowed to never put myself through the heart wrenching times again. Even my dad was moved to tears. The story has beautiful visuals and displays war in a very true down to Earth manner. From beginning to end you are on the edge of your seat hopping the story will have a happy outcome for Seita and Setsuko.
