I am thoroughly enjoying this book… BUT there’s something not quite right.
The author says more than once that they travelled across the Gobi desert for 6 days, then 12 days without water. This is absolutely impossible for a human being to survive, especially while working so physically hard walking so many miles day by day across one of the hottest and most arid regions on earth. There is some serious embellishment going on here which unfortunately detracts from the authenticity of the book.
I’d give it 5 stars if it wasn’t for this.
OK…now I really know this book is a work of fiction. I just read about how they observed 2 yetis standing around and appearing to have some kind of conversation.
I feel duped by this book… remember “Three Cups of Tea”?
