I have just finished binge watching Maternal, for the second time. I saw it originally a while ago when it first came out. I remembered it being excellent but I was really impressed by just how good it really was on second viewing. For once, it was about the realities faced by women in responsible and high stakes careers, juggling their lives, children, partners and inner doubts and individual traumas. For once it was not about someone being murdered, the usual "who dun it".....yawn... For once, it actually got to the heart of what it feels like to deal with, what is still a patriarchy, without it being a man hating exercise. I absolutely loved the characters, the writing, the story lines and the setting. All very believable and intelligent. PLEASE....I can't stress this enough, please continue the series, preferably with the same cast...they were brilliant!
