Halfway through this book and i have to say, I think CB should stick to writing fiction or join politics to to actually find out whether his ideas are feasible or not. This book in 2024 seems prematurely written and from the perspective of someone who doesn't actually stand for anything. For all the talk of appeasement, this book too seems to appease and appeal a certain section of the public.
It would have probably served him better, had he waited another 5 years to write this book. Expecting any political party to show progress in a matter of 5 years is idealistic, unrealistic and absolutely ridiculous. It shows the amateur and immature nature of the analyst. I understand that CB has written this book from the perspective of an Indian citizen, but I would like to ask him, how many of these individualistic reforms has he followed himself? How many protests has he championed for the cause of the roads, rohingyas and whatever else he is on about.
This book reeks of centrism, of someone who doesn't stand for anything, therefore is falling for anything. I am not a bhakt by any means and I do think there is scope for improvement, as there always will be but CB needs to get his head of Lutyens' roads and stick to fiction writing.
This book makes some decent points but for the most past is an idealistic, quite ironic manifestation of someone who disses virtue signalling in his book, while literally virtue signalling with this book.
You can give it a miss.
