This was my bestfriend from prison. One of a kind that was selfless. Being familiar with Nico and knowing that the movie was very accurate, I found it hard to watch. Seeing someone you were in the trenches with (federal prison) go through that pain was tough. I tried to get him to shoot with James Franco but he took the Russo Bro’s. Franco had some legal troubles at the time so he chose the Russo’s. The movie was botched for this reason. The book was much better and Nico wrote his screenplay for it but Russo’s had a sister write it. Holland is very talented and made the movie the best it could be with the screenplay. Russo’s will say I’m a convict so what do I know. I sat with Nico many days in a prison library while Nico poured his everything into his book. Many bocce games and workouts were missed. Nico should be given a chance to write a screenplay. He won’t let you down. Also Wrong Perception by Delroy Brown is great. Another close friend from USP Terre Haute.
