Funky Ratchet

Cons: The acting isn’t exactly top notch in places, and there are a couple of questionable edits and transitions. The pacing is very measured; more than a little like Friday the 13th crossed with manual traveling in Skyrim. Pros: Tells an 80s masked slasher story with many of the tropes purposefully remaining, while showing you the opposite of what you might expect to see in a scene. More dread and slow creeping tension than cheesy jump scares. Nice cinematography. Not the greatest horror film ever made but an inventive and well done perspective on a classic (if patchy) subgenre. However, if you have no patience, attention span, or independent thought, this movie might not be for you.
