I hardly write reviews on anything; however, this is different. The Class of 09 with both Kate Mara and Sepideh Moafi is brilliant. The personalities of both actors are the right mix for this series.
Thus far, the story line has been impressive. Every episode comes with a tale of the bad and the good in ways that is chill, captivating and fluid. Unlike most FBI stories which are mostly brilliant, The Class of 09 comes with little surprises. Moafi is a chill actor, her mannerism and way of speaking is one that pulls you in. She keeps you engaged, glued and focused, leaning in on every word, every syllable, every facial expression, every intention. She expresses love with her eyes (you can tell when she is interested in someone). Mara on the other hand, is a cross of chill and mystery. Her nonverbal is master class, silent but deafening. She controls the space and knows when to let go.
The criminal interactions are chill but meaningful. The narrative keeps you engaged. It's like no other I have watched. The difference is not with the story but with the way the story is told and represented.
This is a brilliant series worth watching.
