I am one amongst the audience who watched Shamshera and LIKED IT.
The negativity around is too much which is why I am just here to tell you otherwise.
There must be something wrong with the timing of launch and critic's dead drop negative bias.
From my point of view, (and there are many like me) the movie was very well bearable unlike what other people have to say.
Acting of Ranbir kapoor is BEAUTIFUL. Even though on a lot of interviews he said, he is scared about people's acceptance, his performance was outstanding. Very skill full as Shamshera and very artistic as Balli.
Sanjay Dutt is also mind blowing.
The movie engrossed us (me & my husband) from the start to finish. Cinematography was done brilliantly, even the VFX (no, they were not cheap effects to look at)
The movie is definitely, affirmative, a one time watch( I am saying one because of the violence, which I personally don't prefer)
But DEFINITELY it is really opposite to the majority negative reviews.
P. S: also, talking about how "Bollywood" the movie is, I do not understand how is that wrong in any way. South Indian cinema does create movies like that and they are widely accepted. All these movies are purely for entertainment purpose, not to put out pure logic.
