WORTH A WATCH!
I read the reviews before watching and was curious about what the 1 star reviews were going on about, but I really liked the storyline so decided to give it a chance.
This movie delivered what I expected and needed in the moment - something light, fun, enjoyable and adventurous so I liked it till the end. At no point did I feel bored or like skipping any part.
BUT there was an aspect in this movie I didn't like(so 4 stars) -
SPOILERS AHEAD
This movie was supposed to be about finding oneself when we're lost and needing a reset, as the main character who just got of a divorce. She joined this hiking trip to rediscover herself. But this movie should have stuck to the message it was about, but ended up being about love in the end. She was lost but suddenly became a new person because of love. That just overshadows everything else that went so well in the movie - the adventure, new people, lessons, nature, the whole experience that was beautiful on its own but the romance angle was unnecessary i think. And btw the whole "you used to be fun" thing and the constant persistence came across a little too pushy but maybe it was because they knew each other a long time so had history. But what seemed off to me was a woman who seemed to have no feelings for the main lead guy, kept saying no to him and tried to set boundaries with him sooo many times was just suddenly in love after reading a poem? There was no chemistry before and felt like her feelings just changed like a switch only because the writers wanted it that way? it felt forced and this movie was better without this.
