Only watched the first two episodes. Other than the old guy, who strangely chain-smoked through the first episode, but not at all in the second, the acting was terrible. I think it would have been better just using him as the main character. Around him there were too many 'pretty' characters, and that was about all they contributed. Some sort of chase scene through the streets seemed inevitable, and the actual storyline was poor. At least there was no swearing so it could safely be deemed 'family viewing'. I wish they would just go back to making the old Agatha Christie style whodunnits without the silliness that now plagues the genre.

I was a very late convert to this show but it has kept me entertained through lockdown. In a world of absolutely dire television it is a real gem. Well written, well acted and a real throwback to genuine family entertainment. It deserves its 13 seasons and hopefully there will be many more to come. If you haven't seen the programme don't just dip in, start from the beginning and chances are you will soon become addicted.
