Jesse Prime

I’ve been playing the AC franchise games since the very beginning of the series and as excited as I was to play this game it was a major let down. There’s many issues with the game but I would consider one of the biggest is the lack of depth in the story. There’s nothing that draws you into the story play to really want to know more about the characters. It’s not captivating whatsoever. The story is so dull and honestly boring compared to any of the games before it. It doesn’t give you the desire to go exploring like previous games before where you could spend endless hours sailing the sea or looking for hidden tombs in ancient civilizations. The second biggest challenge to overcome in the game is the fighting itself. The controls the late dodges the parry’s or even the stamina control is all terrible. In previous editions over the years you would want to engage in combat just to take on 20 soldiers in one for the challenge, I mean you are supposed to be an elite assassin. However even if you time every swing dodge and parry perfectly within a maximum of 10 swings you run out of stamina and just stand there totally defenseless to get brutally attacked and 80% of the time murdered. There’s honestly tons of small issues around the world that will leave you stuck climbing, jumping off of buildings in the wrong direction and even becoming invisible stuck in a glitch from jumping around corners. It feels like the game took major steps backwards with this game. Previous releases like black flag or even syndicate seemed light years ahead of its time but this seems sloppy and a illegitimate attempt to claim progress through the franchise. The character graphics don’t look any better than the previous two games and possible even worse with lack of facial expressions or movement while talking. Overall I would consider this game a dead bust and a major letdown.
