I have college-aged sons but bawled like a child at the end. Dog lover or not, so will you. The enchanting story was all the more poignant knowing it was based on a true story. It brought back the pain of losing my Marco 5 years ago, but also the wonderful memories of having him as part of our family. Dogs are family, now and always.

Disclaimer that I am an absolute dog lover so take this review for what it is. Yes, this movie is syrupy, formulaic, overly sentimental, and a bit contrived; and, none of that matters. Unless you have a heart of stone, this movie will get you every time. This movie will make you hug your best friend harder than usual. I can watch this movie 20X and still end up bawling like a child at the end. Dog parents who have had to go through the pain of losing their best friend(s) will know exactly what I mean.
