Gina McKee shows her tremendous acting skills as the suspicious paranoid wife, and Nigel Havers is a supercilious lying cad, just up his street. Good twist at the end, well worth watching.

Not a film that I would want to watch again, Frank Randle's humour hasn't travelled well through the years, he relies on jumping about and talking about his lack of teeth. Nice bit of patriotic propaganda at the finish.

I remember watching this film in about 1954 in a village hall. Us kids were sitting on an old gym bench at the front. The film took for ages, there was only one cine projector and they had to rewind the reel before showing the next one. However despite the discomfort I loved the film very much, and still watch it at any opportunity.

An enjoyable journey back to the 50s with American cars, diners and teenagers, with Sreve McQueen in the lead. The acting was a bit suspect but for me McQueen could do no wrong.

Anything to say about this film has already been said. All I would add that the script is biting, witty, and memorable and a perfect vehicle for the wonderful Bette Davis.

I didn't expect a film with the title of "The Intruder";to be as enjoyable as this; as àn old tank man the flashbacks to WW11 tank action were unexpected. Jack Hawkins played a superb cavalry officer and Michael Medwin was redeemed from his life of crime. One faux pas, when you are demobbed you have to hand in your uniform, not swan around the streets in it.

This film brought back memories of the 40s, all the shops shut, the pubs full of working class men, the smell of boiling cabbage in the deserted streets,and the sound of raised voices when the men rolled home to their burnt dinners. I loved this film. I noticed that Rose married Tommy Swann in real life in1948, they stayed married until 2010, when one of them died. Bless the pair of em.

An enjoyable film that holds your interest all the way through. Stanley Baker plays a strong part, but I was looking out for big stars playing bit-parts, Joan Hickson played the cook, and Maggie Smith was a house guest.

This film will keep the kids quiet for an hour, I was surprised to see it was directed by the renowned director Cavalcanti. Not his usual avenue

An enjoyable film, with Donald Houston, Susan Shaw, an̈d a familiar face from Dock Green, Peter Byrne. I can't understand the title 'The Large Rope ',did somebody steal it from an ocean liner? What a lovely girl was Susan Shaw.
