First off - NOT a Steve Carell fan but we've been thru everything else on our streaming service so here we are! Of everything I don't like about Carell/shows he's in, I suppose this was the least unwatchable. If I must watch him (and when you've seen everything else - you must resort to your NEVER list) I will only MUST watch his serious roles where he never disappoints by being fuzzily out of sync and somehow smug and superior but at least not outlandishly stupid on top of all that.
All I got from this is that parents disappoint, kids disappoint, bosses, co-workers, friends, mates, etc, etc etc disappoint and that THAT somehow chokes the life out of those interactions. Which they did in a literal sense a number of times. It is here where you must place suspension of disbelief on a very high shelf and never access it again or the murders will make no sense at all. Bigger, stronger, fighting for their lives victims being choked out (by one hand in one case) by a scrawny, utterly self involved foodie with daddy issues just beggars logic and leaves one wondering: now HOW did THAT happen? I know, I know - we aren't supposed to question the mechanics of such a simile but all the viewer is left with here is why oh why didn't any of them raise a hand in defense of their life?
Nah - if you've got this on your NEVER list - leave it there. Otherwise you'll find yourself compelled to write a review in hopes of stopping your own choking on your own vomit sensation!
