I am an admiring fan of Fareed Zakaria. I regard him as a rare, honest and clear-eyed reporter and interviewer. However, in interview with Aryeh Neier, he gave his subject ample time to express his views on whether Israel is guilty of genocide in Gaza, . but ffailed to ask key challenging questions about issues such as: ramification of Hamas's practice of using its own people as human shields; about the future of Gaza if Israel assents to continutation of Hamas as a significant force in its future ; about whether Egypt should share responsibility for conditions in Gaza; about the reputation of United Nations and constituent organizations in outsized criticism of Israel compared with views of other combatants elsehwere ; about views of Israeli majority view of settler viiolence; and more.
