Let me start by saying this is an awesome true story, and its SUPER cool that Amberley and her horse actually did the stunts/runs in this movie. But the reason I have to give a thumbs down is because I'm so sick of horse movies with excellent stories being ruined because they pick a cheap but pretty actress for the lead and don't appear to hire anyone who knows anything about horses. This is definitely not the worst horse movie on the latter front by any means, but the acting really was just so cheesy. The cinematography was good and the soundtrack was moving, but the acting in pretty much every horse movie like this one just never ceases to disappoint. Also - throwing in a random underdeveloped love story is a tired cliche and so unnecessary for a story that's already so good. If anyone ever steps on the scene and makes a genuinely quality horse film, they'll be breaking into an essentially untapped market, and I can't wait for that day.
